2011-2012 Kemp Malone Speaker

Dr. Sianne Ngai, Stanford University

The Kemp Malone Lecture and Seminar Series is happy to announce that our speaker for the 2011-2012 academic year is Sianne Ngai.

Dr. Ngai is Professor of English at Stanford University. She specializes in 20th-century American literary and cultural theory, poetry, film studies, and feminist studies. Her most noted work, Ugly Feelings, published in 2005 has already had a prolific impact on affect theory and the intersection of “minor” affects in race studies, queer theory, feminist theory, and film theory among many other fields.
